Tuesday 4th January 2011: Jess visits Rach basically
killing time waiting to pick her sister up from her interview in Crawley.
On that cold and dreary morning they talk about holidays and decide they
both wanted something different from a holiday and decide to do a charity
banger rally. An ultimate adventure! and sign up on the website on that
morning. They had spoken about it the year before but this time it was for
definite! It was to be a Disney theme! Jess had a moment of editorial genius
and came up with the team name of "When You Wish Upon a Car!"
- taking the Disney song title of "When You Wish Upon a Star"
- and changing the word "Star" to "Car".
Can you see what I did? Genius!!!
We have bought a White Mark I 1996 Ford Mondeo GLX 1.8 Turbo Diesel who we have named Malcolm and he will be our trusty steed for the journey. More info...
Jessica and Rachel have both been affected by family members and friends
sadly passing away from Cancer. We are doing this trip for them...and for
everyone that has been affected by Cancer.
We would like to raise £1000 and more for Cancer Research. We would both be very grateful if you could donate some money by sponsoring us.
We met working at UKIP in 2005. With a shared interest in computers a friendship more than work colleagues was born. This trip will be a true test of this friendship - it will be 7-10 days in the car together and sharing a hotel room in the evening. Will will be talking at the end of it? We have shared an "intentional" night at the Xmas party together so this has been good practice for the trip. Rach thought Jess looked like a princess sleeping with her eye mask on. Jess thought it was hilarious waking up listening to Rach sleeping and murmuring her shopping list for the week!! More info...
